I never understood why virtual rides didn’t count towards Strava’s challenges. Of course it’s possible that this stance, is at least partially informed by my state as a flat-lander. I think it’s stupid that they ignored virtual metrics, like climbing, from the monthly challenges. Riding on the trainer is at least as hard as riding in the real world, and the goal here (at least as I understand it) is to encourage…
Zwift
Ah yes, that day each year where people do stupid things and we pretend it’s funny
It’s April somewhere, so Zwift has decided to go retro. Take it as a PSA, it’s not just you… This is our 6th April Fools’ Day on Zwift, and each year the HQ has come up with something fun for the community. Garmin Fenix 6 Zwift Virtual Run Issue
Garmin recently added Virtual Run support in firmware version 8.10 for the Fenix 6, which if it worked, would have made it possible to use the watch as a “Run Speed” sensor in Zwift. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work on any of the platforms I tested……
I really like that platforms like Zwift are adding features like steering which make the experience more interactive. So the Sterzo block from Elite is great, but that doesn’t mean that it’s perfect. Besides the $69 price (ouch), this really ought to have straps to ensure that the wheel stays in the block. When I sprint, it’s pretty common for the wheel to twist, come up, and slightly out of my current…
