Something about wireless Dura-Ace 9200

I debated posting about this when I saw it pop yesterday because it’s clearly speculation around something that may, or may not be, Shimano’s upcoming Dura-Ace 9200 [potentially wireless] groupset. Ultimately, I think the value of the comments around wired vs. wireless shifting that Keith drops in the there make it interesting enough to warrant some noise.…

One Cleat To Rule Them All

When I bought my first road bike, I briefly considered getting road shoes and pedals, but quite frankly I didn’t see the point. SlowTwitch creates ambiguity around Shimano Dura-Ace R9100P Power Meter

I must admit that I don’t frequent Slowtwich that often, and stuff like this is probably why. While I have zero first hand experience with the R9100P, it’s very clear (as in zero ambiguity) that this power meter doesn’t work. SRAM 11 36 Cassette + Shimano Ultegra R8000 Medium Cage

As a flatlander who likes to climb, I’m always on the lookout for some mechanical advantage which can make it easier to get up the hills. SRAM’s 11-36 cassette is an obvious way to do that, but officially my Shimano R8050 (R8000 should be the same) rear mech only supports up to 34 in the back. Having tried the Ultegra 11-34, and not being a big fan, if this works. It seems…

Shimano Dura-Ace R9100 175mm 50/34 weight

As a confessed weight weenie, I generally try to find the weight of components before impulsively buying it. There are a couple reasons for this: first it helps slow down the process (i.e. fewer things that I need to explain to my partner later), and second if I’m going to add weight to the bike I want it to be a conscious, measured decision. So it was quite frustrating that I wasn’t…
