I really like the Hiplok security ties that we reviewed a while back, but they aren’t intended to be a real bike lock. More an inconvenience creating device while you run off for some coffee, or a restroom break. On the other hand, the new Hiplok D1000 is a real bike lock; and they are making some big claims around the security features it has. I don’t have the tools or skills to access this. Hopefully the LockPickingLawyer will get his hands when it launches :). Until then, Hiplock has released their own video.

Speaking of launches, this is one of those pre-order via Kickstarter things that have become oddly popular lately. I don’t get it, but maybe I’m just a little too “get off my lawn” to be hip to the new product order.
