I just picked up a new bike computer, and while I was running through the list of ConnectIQ apps I need to install, I noticed that MyBikeTraffic issued a “call for funding” late last month. Having run a few community-gratitude-based FOSS projects in the past, I try to spread the love for things that I find useful. When I find them useful; Keepass2Android guy gets a mega beer, every Oktoberfest🍻.
Of course, I want to make sure something works for me before whipping out the wallet, and I dropped the ball with MyBikeTraffic when I first installed it. My challenge for projects like MyBikeTraffic, is that once it’s set it up, I don’t really think about it unless something breaks or I curious about something random. For me, it’s not project that I use to dig into the data with any regularity. It’s mostly on my Garmin to provide forensic information, if it’s ever needed. I know that’s a little dark, but… I do ride on the road… just being realistic…
Anyway, the point of this post is to encourage all of you to 1) check it out (it’s really slick) and 2) show some love if you’re so inclined. Also, those with sharp eyes might notice the MAMILIAN logo in the top right of the screenshot above. That’s because this site is now an official sponsor of MyBikeTraffic. Turns out that was the best way to maximize the $ in the pot.
