Lynskey GR300 vs Giant Revolt vs Road Bike

I get asked frequently whether I like the Lynskey GR300 or the Giant Revolt better, this video discusses that and a little bit of “if I can only have one bike” question vs a road bike.

Similar experience with my Giant Revolt I have one bike, which is the carbon Giant revolt with the SLR 1 42mm wheelset. I use this bike for both road and gravel and it really does do well in both scenarios, a bit of a swiss army bike. I don’t race and am usually just keeping pace with the older dads – so I don’t have much need for additional speed or aerodynamics. At almost 50 and being 6’5″, a proper aero position would be very uncomfortable, except for the shortest rides. I do have a separate set of aluminum wheels… Read more »

What did you get your GR300 down to for weight with your current build? I have the same bike and am looking to upgrade the Vision wheels that came on it… would you still recommend the Farsport 30/30’s with DT240 or 350 hubs?

Yeah I completely agree about weight reduction and choosing the right places for it! My current wheels are ~2000kg so going to the farsports with drop 700grams roughly which I am hoping makes a big difference in lateral stiffness.

As a side question, have you had an issues with creaks on the GR? After 200 miles I have a creak when climbing out of saddle that I can’t seem to track down.

P.s. I agree with you on the thru axles, they are the worst I have ever worked with!
