Laces are more aero?

I came out as SPD-everywhere a long time ago, so my choice around this topic shouldn’t come as a surprise. What does surprise me is how many people aren’t able, or willing, to follow the data. There’s nothing measurable in it. Ride what you want to ride, for whatever reasons, there’s not one right answer. Well, unless you might need to walk, at any point. Then there’s a clear winner :D.…

WWWTPD (What Would World Tour Pros Do)

Every so often I run across a WWWTPD cyclist. You know the type, they look at what the pro teams are doing, and say out loud to those who do their own research that all of that effort is a waste of time. You should just do what the World Tour (WT) teams do. Performance is so important to the pros that they wouldn’t possibly compromise on the products they use. I…

RIP RGT, check out MyWhoosh

If you’re one of RGT’s 47 paying customers, first off let me offer my condolences. Loss is hard. Take your time, don’t rush the stages. So maybe the $450 à la carte, or $350 with a bike, is worth a…

About Damn Time, Shimano. About Damn Time…

Reports of Shimano Ultegra and Dura-Ace cranks falling apart, or in Shimano speak “bonding separation issue”, have been floating around for several years. Up until this point, AFAIK, they have been completely silent on the issue and left it up to owners to bear the cost for replacement, and pain if something goes catastrophically wrong……

Moots Express eBike – 100 mile range gravel e-bike

Moots is best known for expensive, awesome, titanium gravel bikes. So the “from $10,000” price tag on their newly announced “Moots Express eBike” gravel e-bike, or maybe e-gravel-bike, did not surprise me at all. But that it is carbon, and promises ~100 miles of range, did. Obviously, there’s some caveating around the whole “100 miles” thing. Judging range is really hard given elevation, wind, temperature, etc., but even if the real number…
